Explore Lincolnshire's Aviation Heritage

Join us on a journey through Lincolnshire's extensive and rich aviation heritage. From the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's flying Spitfires, Hurricanes, Dakota and Avro Lancaster, to the Digby Lima Sector Operations Room, to Just Jane at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre and the many other heritage sites and airbases across the county.

Let us help you explore the many aviation sites and attractions in Lincolnshire, why not use one of the trails that are available to guide you around? Or make up your own itinenary from the list of museums and attractions open to the public.

Look out for aviation events and festivals taking place throughout the year, see our events guide to help you plan your visit.

Take the time to listen to some of our oral histories; learn about the experiences of an RAF Veteran and hear an interview with RAF Groundcrew member post war and his experiences as a boy during the war.

We also have film of an operation to Frankfurt; Bomb Aimer Les Rutherford was one of only two survivors when his Lancaster Bomber was shot down over Germany. His miraculous survival is told in a short film, 'A Bomb Aimer’s Story'.
