1947. Post-war Britain struggles to survive acute rationing and austerity. In a small Yorkshire town mild-mannered chiropodist Gilbert Chilvers dreams of a “place on the Parade” whilst his ambitious wife Joyce just wants to stop being a nobody.
A quintessentially English musical farce from ACT II.
Kenneth Macmillen’s powerful telling of Manon and Des Grieux’s tragic love is a masterpiece of modern ballet set to music by Massenet

Join us as we take part in this national celebration. Watch the mill rumble into action, grinding its own stoneground flour. On Saturday 19th May 2018, the museum will be again hosting a Tribute to the V-Force Reunion event at its site in eastern Nottinghamshire.
This will be a reunion event similar in format to the 2016 event and is being organised by the museum volunteers and staff. Once again we hope that it will include a range of visiting displays connected to the three V-force aircraft; Valiant, Victor and Vulcan; the Squadrons that were part of the V-Force; and the personnel that flew and maintained the aircraft.
During the day an area will be set up for former V-Force personnel to sign-in, collect their badges and this will be staffed by museum volunteers and hopefully some former members of the V-Force.
The museum is keen to hear from any former personnel who would like to participate. Ideally we would like you to send us a message by email via this this Link
By contacting us and advising of your likely attendance we will get a good idea of participation numbers, which will mean that we will be able to make the necessary arrangements more effectively.
An indication of the Squadron that you served with and the type of V-Force aircraft you flew would also be of great help to us. We will acknowledge each email (we will aim to do this within 48 hours) and if you bring along a copy of your email to the event you will get the reduced rate admission of £7.00 per person. This will include the provision of an identification badge for the event.
Throughout the weekend we also plan to have a number of museum aircraft open for people to visit – this will include the Vulcan, Hastings and Varsity. A small additional charge of £1.00 person will be made for each aircraft visited. The museum continues to collect Log Book entries for Vulcan XM594, Hastings TG517 and Varsity WF369 and would welcome any additional information being provided during this weekend.
This event is open to the general public & normal museum admission rates apply: Adults £9.00, Over 65s £8.00, Children £4.50 and Family ticket [2 adults & 3 children] £23.00
