    Evening Pottery 6 week class starting Thursday 23rd February 2017 – 9.30pm £100 pp 8 places.

    Come and join local artist Fiona Radford for a 6-week pottery evening class. No previous experience required and all levels of ability are welcome. She will teach you how to hand build pots and ornaments. You will learn how to hand make pottery using different methods, including coiling and slab building, and decorative techniques such as slip glazing and sgraffito. This is a hands on practical course. Fiona will support and guide you while you make pieces of your own choice, and at your own speed. Make a lamp base, bowl, jug, animal ornament, tiles or a model of your pet! Enjoy our new purpose built studio and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Tea and coffee and all materials and tools are provided. Bring an apron and closed toed shoes for safety. (a small charge is made for weight of finished glazed items which can be picked up from the shop).

    Bernard Shaw's classic play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France. As one of the first Protestants and nationalists, she threatens the very fabric of the feudal society and the Catholic Church across Europe.

    Josie Rourke (Coriolanus, Les Liaisons Dangereuses) directs Gemma Arterton (Gemma Bovery, Nell Gwynn, Made in Dagenham) as Joan of Arc in this electrifying production.

    A fused glass workshop with Matt Sorrell – Saturday 25th February 2017 10.30 – 1.30pm £45 pp – Make a sailboat light catcher. Painting on glass with liquid enamels and layering cut glass to form shapes like a sailboat. Includes all equipment and materials.

    Limited to 6 places.

    Your light catcher will be created by painting a liquid enamel compatible paint on to a piece of glass, then shapes laid on top. Then your piece will be fired to roughly 810c in our glass-fusing kiln and afterwards will be available for collection at the Alford Craft Market Shop.
