    A foundation and introduction to four completely different approaches to using acrylic paints. Ideal for students of any ability to either gain a good foundation, or expand their knowledge and skills. Designed to help you gain confidence and enjoy this medium by approaching it in both the traditional and more unusual ways. We will also be painting four completely different scenes as part of this workshop series; from painting a wildlife scene, painting a poppy field, a beach scene and painting reflections. This is a course of four weekly workshops on Tuesdays but there is also the option of attending individual sessions. Price: £36 per session or £120 for all 4 parts. Includes light refreshments and all materials with the exception of brushes which can be bought by the tutor for £20 if paid for and ordered at The Steel Rooms by the 16th of October.

Price: £36 per session or £120 if all 4 parts are booked together. Includes light refreshments and materials with the exception of week 1 where students will require their own set of watercolours, palettes, brushes and acrylic inks if owned. Only brushes will be needed for the other weeks - A simple wash brush or mop and one small round will suffice. If the student has acrylic inks for the first painting, then even better!

  • Contemporary Life Drawing with Amy Hewitt

    General practice offers a contemporary twist on a life drawing class, where performance art is the main focus. Clients are taught the classical skills surrounding the drawing of a figure, while watching performative works; their skills will develop an element of live-ness.  Amy will also offer context on the performance piece explaining its concept and ideology. Attendees should bring an A2 Sketchbook, a range of pencils, charcoal, masking tape and oil pastels. Price: £20 per person.
