Using the gelli plate mono printing technique, you can create unique pieces of textile jewellery. You can experiment with layers of colour and pattern and small motifs can also be printed to embellish your design. Very simple hand stitching will then be used to lightly quilt the fabric onto a soft backing. No experience is necessary, this workshop is suitable for all levels of experience. The Spires and Steeples Challenge is a 26 or 13 mile run or walk testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. With no podiums, winners, or clocks to race against, it’s not about how fast you can cross the finish line; it’s a challenge that emphasizes teamwork, solidarity, and accomplishing something truly great.
Starting in Lincoln, the route follows the Spires and Steeples Arts & Heritage Trail, an off road trail that follows way marked public footpaths and bridleways crossing open fields and countryside lanes, finishing at the National Centre for Craft and Design in Sleaford.
The Challenge is in aid of WheelPower which provides sports wheelchairs, training and support to disabled people. Participants are also welcome to raise funds for their own respective charities.

Learn the principles of dyeing wool in an environmentally friendly way.
Create a needle felted toadstool. You will learn the technique of needle (dry) felting to produce a 3D toadstool using a recycled jar, merino wool and a barbed needle. These can be used a pincushion or a cute little ornament for your home. Robyn Smith has several years experience of making felt and running felt workshops in and around Lincoln, and is therefore the perfect teacher for this event.
