A Landscape designed for cyclists…
Empty lanes, a web of bridle paths and tracks, towpaths, and as easy or taxing terrain as you want… add to this some spectacular scenery and friendly villages, and you’ve got the makings of a great cycling break!
It’s as if Lincolnshire was designed for cycling. Everywhere you go you see people of all ages on bikes. People come from home and abroad to enjoy this beautiful area.
Down its backbone are the Wolds…. A line of chalk hills with lanes which lead to pretty hamlets, and valleys cut by streams and rivers. Take it in, no need to rush. There’ll be a welcoming pub for lunch, and then much more to explore. There’s a wealth of history, wildlife, countryside. To the south are the Fens. Miles and miles of deserted countryside where your mind is free to wander.
Long distance routes bisect the county – travel the whole length from Barton, through Lincoln to Boston on the Hull – Harwich cycle route, or round and about the city following the Lincoln CycleLincs map. In fact in whatever part of Lincolnshire you’re riding, you’ll find useful cyclists’ maps crammed with information.
There’s dozens of cycle routes to choose from – you can hire bikes, too!
Why not stay a while and book one of our Cycling short breaks?
