From the Wild Witham Walk to the Viking Way, step out into the green and fertile Lincolnshire countryside. Plenty of choice, a haven for walkers.
For the leisurely strollers to the serious walkers. Lincolnshire has it all. There’s coastal routes where you can watch an awesome collection of birdlife that visits the county’s shores or climb Lincoln Edge and walk the Wolds. Take in any of the bustling market towns and call in at a friendly village tea room. Everywhere you go you’ll find the countryside is geared for walkers. The paths well marked, the people welcoming.
There’s Pub Walks… take some exercise and fresh air and then a pint of beer - the perfect plan! There’s some serious long distance paths – either do as little or as much of the Viking Way as you want – you’ll see the county at its best. Do a city walk around Lincoln, or one of the river walks, Wolds walks, railway walks, historical walks, wildlife walks, themed walks, accompanied walks… so much choice, so much to gain.
Pick up maps for walkers from the Tourist Information Centres that offer walks in their areas – they’ll give you easy to follow routes and local information, where to stay and where to eat and forget the car.
