The Crown Hotel in the heart of Stamford.The Pride & Prejudice package includes entry to Burghley House - discover the grandeur of this Elizabethan country house which acted as 'Rosings' in the film. Explore rooms used in the movie, including the breath-taking Heaven Room. The House is open daily except Fridays until 30th Oct 2005. (Closed 10th Oct - 14th Oct). Burghley Park, including the gardens, sculpture park and the Orangery and gift shop remain open Thurs - Sun to 18th Dec. The House reopens on 1st April 2006.
Entry to Belton House is also included - one of the finest examples of Restoration country house architecture with stunning interiors, magnificent lanscaped park and formal gardens. Belton House was used for both exterior and interior scenes at Rosings in the BBC series. The House is open daily except Mon & Tue until 30th Oct 2005 between 12:30pm and 5pm. The House reopens on 25th March 2006. The garden, shop and restaurant is open Fri - Sun from 4 Nov - 18 Dec.
Also included is a guided Jane Austen walking tour of Stamford - discover one of the finest Georgian stone towns in England, the setting for the village of Meryton.
