Blackfriars Art Centre - Boston

The Fens towns provide vibrant centres for live and performing arts. Boston features heavily in the arts world with its Blackfriars Art Centre. Here is home to some of the finest live theatre, music and films. But, above all, the pantomime is legendary.

Spalding hosts the beautiful late medieval wool merchant’s hall, Ayscoughfee Hall situated by the River Welland. During the summer months Ayscoughfee Gardens are the venue of a re-enactment of life in medieval times.

The Angles Theatre at Wisbech is one of the oldest surviving Georgian theatres in the country. With only 112 seats, it offers a very intimate performance space specialising in drama, dance and musical theatre.

Occasional theatrical productions take place at Peckover House, the National Trust property on North Brink, Wisbech.

King’s Lynn has both an Arts Centre and Corn Exchange which hosts many touring musical and comedy shows. It is also a town of festivals from poetry to pop.
