Cleethorpes Coast

Countryside and coast … Welcome to Cleethorpes, Grimsby and the North East Lincolnshire Wolds…

On Lincolnshire’s northern coast you will find our closest cluster of golf courses during your visit. From Grimsby Golf Club in the heart of this historic fishing town to Cleethorpes Golf Club just a few miles down the road you have already ticked off the areas two best. With two 9-hole gems also in the towns – namely Humberston Country Club and Grimsby Golf Centre you could almost spend all your time in Grimsby & Cleethorpes.

A step further afield however unveils Waltham Windmill, Tetney, The Manor Golf Club and Immingham – 4 18-hole courses less than 10 miles away. Waltham and Tetney are the newest of these – although you wouldn’t know it! The Manor was recently acquired by the Grimsby Institute who plan to make it a centre of excellence while Immingahm Golf Club started as a 9-hole course in 1975 before being extended to 18 in 1984.

With all the areas golf courses in relative close proximity you’ll be glad to hear that the same is also true of the area’s top tourist attractions.

Cleethorpes is a must for anyone wanting a traditional seaside break. With golden sandy beaches and everything you would expect from a coastal resort. With the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, Cleethorpes Discovery Centre and The Jungle Zoo amongst the resorts top attractions you will find more than enough to occupy your time in the resort.

In Grimsby shopping is the order of the day. With Freshney Place Shopping Centre offering your favourite high street names all under one roof. Nearby you will find evidence of the towns great connections with the sea at the Fishing Heritage Centre – complete with the Ross Tiger (a real life fishing trawler permanently docked outside) this is a great chance to see why Grimsby was once the world’s busiest fishing port.
