The Lincolnshire market town of Stamford was designated the first conservation in England in 1967. Today it is an ideal haven for antique lovers.
The centre was founded in 1993. The number of dealers has grown steadily over time and now with more than 60, the variety of antiques is unmatched in the surrounding area.
Items for sale range from £5 to £3000 and regular turnover of stock frequently brings customers back for more.
There is furniture available from Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods and displays of arts and crafts, art deco and country pine.
Dealers specialise in clocks and watches, jewellery, pictures, prints, vintage clothing. Collectors of fine porcelain, glass, brass, copper and silver are well catered for.
With a vintage clothing room, a fine display of fire places, surrounds, grates, exquisite lighting, an extensive stock of ephemera and all manner of collectibles, no-one need depart empty handed.
Peter Light and his team are always available to proffer advice on purchases, antiques, or offer them for sale on commission.
