July 2 - September 5: BEAM! Lincoln Children & Young People's Festival

Lincoln is the place to be if you are a young person this summer. The launch of beam! 2010 sees the city overrun with children’s activities and events.

August 16-September 5: 'Lincoln by the sea'

Experience a city holiday and seaside break rolled into one at 'Lincoln by the sea' this summer. Children can take part in traditional seaside games while older members of the family can relax in deckchairs brought in especially from Skegness.

September 2 - 5: Burghley Horse Trials

The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is the première equestrian and social event in the international sporting calendar. Set in the stunning parkland of Burghley House, Stamford the Horse Trials is an unforgettable event for all to enjoy/

September 9 - 12: Heritage Open Days

Take in the wealth of Lincolnshire heritage when many stately homes and manors open their doors for FREE! The theme for 2010 will be Lincolnshire at War - through the ages and we are looking to fill around half of the programme with events reflecting that theme. Events can range from special activities at RAF museums, to re-enactments of English Civil War battles to guided tours of our medieval castle sites.

September 17 - 19: Bathing Beauties Festival

The Bathing Beauties Festival is the only one in the UK. With a 5 mile stretch from Mablethorpe to Sutton on Sea it has become the largest and longest linear coastal art festival in England.

October 1: Lincolnshire Day

If you're looking for an outpouring of local pride, come to the county in October as it marks the official celebration of Lincolnshire Day. Lincolnshire Day celebrates everything great about the county - from the mighty Lincolnshire sausage to our grand historic links, coast, local heroes, nature and aviation heritage.

October 3: Mablethorpe Marathon

Take part or come along on and give everyone your support in the annual Mablethorpe Marathon.

October 7-12: Lincoln Comedy Festival

The 3rd Lincoln Comedy Festival runs 7th – 12th October and as always the line up is eclectic and draws on sketch, straight stand up, prop based, whimsical, one liners, storytellers and the best emerging acts on the circuit including Ardal O’Hanlon, Sarah Millican, Stewart Francis, Josie Long, Tom Stade and The Boy With Tape On His Face.

October 9 & 10: 60th British National Ploughing Championships & Country Festival

Around 200 of Britain's top champion ploughmen will be competing this year when we will be celebrating 60 years of British Ploughing. Two busy days will be packed with competitions for conventional and reversible ploughing; four types of vintage ploughing classes, crawler ploughing and of course magnificent heavy horses.
