Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway Driver Experience Day.
Under expert guidance and supervision you will receive an introduction to the railway, learn how to prepare a locomotive, fire and drive the engine on a full line return trip.
Treat yourself or someone special to a full day learning how to prepare, drive and maintain a powerful light railway steam locomotive.
Bring family and friends along to enjoy a trip on the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway.
Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway is a must see! Starting your journey from our main terminus at Cleethorpes Kingsway Station where you may browse in the station masters gift shop before boarding your train for a delightful run through the Lakeside park and along the Humber foreshore.
Before long, you will arrive at Lakeside Central Station, our main headquarters. Shortly after passing our locomotive sheds and workshops in which our collection of vintage steam and diesel locomotives are housed. Pause a while in the Brief Encounters Tea Room, or have a pint in the Signal Box Inn 'Reputedly the World's smallest pub'. For the model railway enthusiast our model shop at Lakeside has a full range from all the main manufacturers. Re-board your train for the last part of your journey passing the events arena with it's craft units before once again crossing Meridian Road. Here, the line climbs sharply and our steam engines work hard to cross the Greenwich Meridian Line (the last railway in the UK to do so). After which, you pass our impressive signal box, the entrance to Humberston North Sea Lane Station your final destination. From here you gain impressive views of Spurn Point and the Humber Estuary with it's shipping and wildlife.
Take part in a Driver Experience Course and receive one years membership for the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway Supporters Association and a Certificate.
