The Lincolnshire Coast
The East Lindsey area encompasses the wide variety of coastal holidays in the region. Whatever kind of seaside break you have in mind, you’re sure to find it here.
If you want the sensory riot of rides, candyfloss, crowds, colourful sweets and souvenir stalls and amusements – try the Fun Coast, stretching from Skegness to Mablethorpe, full of day-trippers and families. The best known resort must be bustling Skegness and its famous Jolly Fisherman.
Chapel St. Leonards is a mixture of the traditional and the modern whilst Ingoldmells is home to the famous Fantasy Island Millennium Roller Coaster and the legendary Butlins. Mablethorpe is a solidly popular resort that can keep visitors of all ages amused.
Sample the coastal charm at Sutton-on-Sea, Chapel St Leonards and Trusthorpe, quieter destinations with a traditional quality of their own. The lovely hamlet of Anderby Creek has one of the region’s most unspoilt beaches. Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea have all met Blue Flag standards for cleanliness and have been ranked amongst the best beaches in the world.
Between and beyond these areas, another kind of life thrives in the unbroken tranquility of the Natural Coast.
Gibraltar Point is a world-renowned nature reserve, famed for its birdlife, while Donna Nook has a thriving colony of grey seals and is open to the public. The villages of Saltfleetby, Crook Bank, Moggs Eye and more all reward those seeking the natural coastline.
Off the beaten track, a haven for nature lovers, birdwatchers, conservationists and the romantics - these wild stretches of sand are some of Lincolnshire's greatest natural assets.
