Add Easton Walled Gardens to your Itinerary

Easton Walled Gardens has 12 Acres of 'lost' gardens which were once the grounds of a great house. Requisitioned by the army during the war the house fell into disrepair and was pulled down in 1951.
After 450 years of continuous cultivation the gardens were abandoned for the next 50 years. In late 2001, work began to fell sycamores and scrub to see if the gardens still remained beneath. This story is still evolving, but today there is a garden for the 21st century with plenty to see and do for everyone.
The gardens now include a David Austin Rose Collection, 100 varieties of Daffodil, 50 varieties of Sweet Peas, Irises, trial beds and the popular cutflower garden, plus a yew tunnel. There are two glasshouses, a cottage and vegetable gardens, drifts of bulbs and meadows.
The gardens have been in the Cholmeley family for 14 generations and are managed by Lady Ursula Cholmeley, who works full time on the gardens. An incredible amount of work has been achieved to bring the gardens back to life. Lady Cholmeley and her friendly team hope that visitors leave feeling relaxed, enchanted and inspired to work on their own gardens!
The gardens are easily accessible, just off the A1 and welcome coaches and group parties (please book in advance).
