This year Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire ran a Poetry competition, based on the theme of Flight, which was open to all schoolchildren aged 6-13.
By its close in April over 170 poems had been received from Primary and Comprehensive schools from all over Lincolnshire.
The children had free reign to write about any aspect of flight they liked.
Judging took place in May, the winners scooping free family tickets to the Waddington Air Show.
Such was the quality and diverse nature of many of the poems that it was decided to compile the best 32 of them into a booklet. This booklet has now been put on general sale for the sum of £5.99, £5 donated to the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
The aim of producing this booklet, containing winning poems and others chosen from the various schools is to raise money for the Lincolnshire & Nottingham Air Ambulance Service.
Booklets are only £5.99 each (incl P&P), so dig deep in support of the fantastic work of the Lincolnshire & Nottingham Air Ambulance service.
Spitfire by Charlie Noble, Year 6
‘…he flies high and low reaching for those around him, he aims and fires, another one gone in the blink of an eye. He ducks, he spins, he does tricks in the sky. His hands spin around and around like sails on a windmill...’
Poetry Booklets £5.99 (incl 2nd class P&P) £5 donated to Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulence.
