Monsters, Monks and Manuscripts! at Lincoln Castle

Step into the Victorian Prison this Easter as we journey back to medieval times and take our inspiration from the incredible Chronica Majora, now on display in the Magna Carta Vault.

Meet Brother Absalom, our resident medieval monk, and uncover the secrets of the scriptorium – where manuscripts were carefully written and illustrated long before the printing press. Hear gripping tales of strange creatures, daring knights and treacherous princes, and let your imagination run wild as you pick up a pencil and design your very own medieval monster.

Continue your adventure as you explore the Prison, discover the Castle grounds and uncover Lincolnshire’s past in the archaeology displays.

All activities are included with a standard Castle day ticket, making it a full day out of history, creativity and adventure for the whole family.
