Wander through fields of glorious yellow on a Sunflower Trail through the fields at Stourton Estate this July.
For two Sunday’s only, Stourton Estate are opening their field to the public where you can join in the fun following the Sunflower Trail and pick up own to take home too.
The 1km trail will lead you through the stunning yellow fields as the Sunflowers are in full bloom. Make sure you bring your secateurs with you as the trail will end at the pick-your-own sunflower area so you can cut your own stems to take home. Dogs on leads are also more than welcome to come and enjoy a day out with you too and they can even take home a deer antler chew as a souvenir.
Stourton Estate will also be open all day, until 5pm for you to enjoy spending more time in nature. Stroll through the estate and take in the lakes and woodlands on one of the estate’s 3 self-guided walking routes, board the tractor and trailer for a guided tour to see the majestic herd of red deer and their calves, or even go on another hunt around the grounds, spotting gnomes, nature, and trees.
On Sunday 31st July, L-CAT are also running off-road safaris around the estate too, giving you the chance to experience and take in the beautifully maintained historic parkland and woodland in a 4x4 and learn about work they do across the county assisting the community.
The Sunflower Trail and pick your own Sunflowers is free, and any voluntary donations to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal during your visit will be greatly appreciated. Sunflowers are the National Flower for Ukraine, and you can make your donation online via the JustGiving page directly.
Refreshments will be available to purchase from the Lunch Wagon during the day, too.
A portable toilet is available inside the main gate and further toilet facilities including baby change & disabled are located next to the safari tent in the arboretum (follow the festoon lighting from the hand gate from the woodland parking area) approx. 5 min walk.
