Spalding

Spalding is a peaceful market town on the River Welland with an attractive waterfront boasting grand Georgian terraces, tree-edged streets and pretty riverside walks. Much of the town is now an outstanding conservation area and offers a traditional shopping centre, busy markets and plenty of history.

Spalding is famous for being the centre of the flower industry in Britain. The land is rich in silt so makes wonderful arable and horticultural fields. The area is now the largest producer of daffodils in the country and Spalding holds a spectacular Flower Festival which brings the town alive with floral floats, colour, music and entertainment.

Spalding Water Taxi

Springfield’s Outlet Shopping Centre and Festival Garden, is located on the edge of the town. It has over 40 stores, selling high street brands at discount prices. The centre also hosts a number of pavement cafes and restaurants. Springfield’s is situated within the beautiful festival gardens which were designed by a multitude of celebrity gardeners including Kim Wilde, Chris Beardshaw and Charlie Dimmock.

Spalding Water Taxi is a peaceful and environmentally friendly transport link between Spalding town centre and Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens.  Enjoy a relaxing cruise along the beautiful Coronation Channel.  The journey lasts about 30 minutes, where you can enjoy the wildlife in its natural environment and some lovely scenery along the banks of both the River Welland and the Coronation Channel. This is a seasonal service with sailings daily.
