Scunthorpe is often called Britain's steel capital and is home to England's largest steelworks. Scunthorpe came into existence due to the mining of the local ironstone which began in 1859.

This quaint market town is literally the ‘birthplace of Methodism’. The founders of Methodism John and Charles Wesley were born here.

One of the county's larger market towns with fantastic medieval heritage. Gainsborough Old Hall is a must for history lovers. 

One of Britain's best cultural cities. The historic city is lined with cobbled streets and historic architecture. 

Situated on the River Rase on the western edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Market Rasen is known for being home to the only racecourse in Lincolnshire which hosts an annual programme of racing fixtures, and is also a popular concert venue.

Wragby is an historic market town at the junction of the A157 and A158, so it is a popular stop off for those on their way to the coast or to the Wolds. There is a traditional butcher, a number of independent shops and a variety of place to eat.

the Lincolnshire Wolds’. The River Bain flows through the centre of the town and St Mary’s church dates from the 13th century.

A bustling, picturesque former spa town in the heart of rural Lincolnshire. Popular attractions include The Hotchkin golf course, currently ranked 58th best in the world and the Kinema in the Woods.

Kirton in Lindsey, also known as Kirton Lindsey is a small with a working windmill - Mount Pleasant Windmill. Interestingly, Catherine Parr, sixth wife of Henry VIII, lived at Kirton Lindsey after she married her first husband.

Market town with a weekly market, monthly Farmers' Market, independent shopping and annual horse fair.

Situated at the northern edge of the Wolds, the town of Caistor is popular with walkers with the Viking Way running through the town.

Port town, key for shipping and industry. A temporary town was built in 1906 to house the workers who built the dock. All of the buildings were constructed with a timber frame covered with corrugated iron, so it soon came to be known as ‘Tin Town’. The last remaining building is now the Tin Town Heritage Centre and has recently been restored.

Home to historic docks, fresh produce markets, delicious food and fantastic entertainment. The Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre is a multi-award winning attraction which transports you back to the sights, sounds, smells and drama of the 1950’s heyday of this famous port.

Beautiful seaside town with sandy beach, rich heritage and family friendly attractions. Sea View Street is known as the oldest shopping street in Cleethorpes and features a number of small independent shops and cafes. Number 16 was first opened in the early 1800’s to cater for the needs of the growing tourist industry.

Mablethorpe is a seaside town, it's one of Lincolnshire's popular coastal towns with a magnificent Blue Flag Award Winning beach consisting of two miles of soft golden sand. 

Louth is a foodie's haven with its specialist grocers, and local butchers, Meridian Meats who have won numerous awards. It is also home to The Cheese Shop, which has gained nationwide recognition, including in The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, and appeared on The Hairy Bikers' Food Tour of Britain.



A beautiful market town at the foot of the Wolds and just 7 miles from the East Coast. Notable attractions include: Alford Manor House - reputed to be the largest thatched manor house in the country and Alford five-sailed windmill.

Sleaford has a lot to offer visitors of all ages despite being a small market town. The Hub, a national centre for craft and design. For aviation enthusiasts, there’s Cranwell Aviation Centre and RAF Digby Ops Room offering great insight into local and British aviation history. 

Grantham is an attractive and industrial market town that sits on the border of Lincolnshire and Nottingham. It is home to a number of Lincolnshire's incredibly picturesque historic houses, castles and buildings including Belton House and Belvoir Castle, it is well worth a visit and makes for an excellent day trip or weekend away.

A small market town on the north edge of the Lincolnshire Fens. Visit Wellhead Gardens, 21 acres of parkland and waterways - particularly worth a visit in the spring when the pathways are lined with trees in blossom. Bourne is also noted for its impressive summer flower displays.

An Historic cluster of attractive stone-built villages six miles north of Peterborough. Market Deeping’s market has been held since at least 1220.

A bustling prosperous market town. There are over 600 listed buildings in and around the town. Visit for Burghley House, one of the finest of Elizabethan houses, set in lovely Capability Brown parkland. Stamford is also great for independent shops, including little shops tucked down quaint narrow passageways.

Historic town home to medieval Crowland Abbey and fenland wildlife. The remaining north nave aisle of Crowland Abbey is now the parish church and is about one eighth the size of the abbey which existed before 1539. The attached ruins are dramatic.

An attractive market town with pretty Georgian houses that front the tree-lined River Welland which runs through the centre of the town. Many buildings show a strong Dutch influence, the 15th century Ayscoughfee Hall, now a museum, is particularly fine and well-worth a visit.

Pretty market town close to The Wash with attractive Georgian houses set amid rich farmland reclaimed from the once flooded fens. Highwayman Dick Turpin lived in Long Sutton for about nine months under the alias John Palmer!

Small market town known for its connections with the flower industry, with history dating back to medieval times. Some 40% of England’s bulbs and flowers are produced in the fens and the tulip is represented on one of the Holbeach town signs. 

From the historic Guildhall to the beautiful nature reserves at Frampton Marsh and Freiston Shore, there is plenty to see and do in Boston. Home of the Pilgrim Fathers, who sailed from The Haven in 1620 and settled in what is now Boston, Massachusetts.

Wainfleet is said to stand on the site of the old Roman town of Vainona. It is probably best known for its famous family-run brewery, Batemans Brewery.

A market town in the middle of countryside immortalised by the Victorian Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson. There is an impressive former courthouse and jail with massive Greek Doric columns, it is now the town theatre.

Award-winning, vibrant, family-friendly seaside resort with traditional attractions. Skegness beach holds the prestigious Blue Flag award meaning that it is amongst the cleanest in the world. There is plenty to see and do and is a must when in the county. Come and join in the fun!
