Lincolnshire County Council is inviting people to share their stories and photos of this long-distance walking route to celebrate its 50-year anniversary. Whether you’ve walked the full 149 miles or just enjoyed a short stroll, tell us what made your experience so special. Was it an encounter with wildlife, a day walking with friends or maybe you have a favourite view.

By sharing stories and photos we will capture the spirit of the Viking Way and inspire others to get out and experience it.

More about the Viking Way:
Established in 1976 the 149-mile walking route runs from the banks of the Humber to the town of Oakham in Rutland.
The route was set up by a partnership between Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Humberside County Councils together with the Ramblers.
The name reflects the influence of Danelaw on the area in the late 9th century when Lincolnshire was part of the historic Mercia region.

The route passes through some of the most beautiful areas of Lincolnshire, including the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape, the Lincolnshire Limewoods, the cliff villages south of Lincoln and the Kesteven Uplands.
