Walking with Alpacas

If you fancy something different how about walking with alpacas through the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside? JandJ Alpacas offer a number of alpaca experiences for all age groups. Experiences range from meeting and greeting the alpacas to trekking, ensuring we have an Walk with one of the beautiful alpacas on an unforgettable experience! Wander past ponds and through our small woodland on an hour long on farm experience. The experience will start with a safety brief and meeting your alpaca. They have seven trained trekking boys and experienced guides who will walk with you answering questions and assisting throughout the walk. The walk will last around an hour with some stops to feed the alpacas, breathe in the countryside and take plenty of pictures.

An Introduction to Polo – Leadenham Polo Club

If horsing around is more your thing then a warm welcome awaits you at Leadenham Polo Club .  This fantastic venue was established James Reeve who is incredibly passionate about polo and was determined to make polo accessible for all by trying to keep prices as affordable as possible whilst still maintaining the highest standards. The perfect place for an introduction to the sport of polo; their qualified coaches will take you through your first steps in learning to play; suitable for both competent riders to those who have never ridden. These two hour sessions include the following:
  • Getting to grips with the polo swing on foot
  • Learning to ride polo-style
  • Bringing the two together, hitting the ball on horseback

Horse Drawn Carriage Experience

For a spot of luxury how about a trip in a horse drawn carriage? A romantic and fun way to take in the sights of south Lincolnshire! Stuart and Bridie Fawcett from Dunkirk Farm Carriage Ride Experiences, near Grantham invite guests to enjoy a carriage ride with their two Clydesdale horses, Seumas and Silas, before being served afternoon tea at Dunkirk Farm, Great Ponton. Guests will be able to enjoy their afternoon tea on the terrace at the farm adjacent to the River Witham and overlooking the magnificent countryside of the Witham Valley or, when circumstances permit, from the orangery.
