The Perfect Setting
The Sculpture at Doddington exhibition only happens every two years and is well worth a visit. There are over 300 works of art by 60 artists scattered throughout the walled and wild gardens and also an indoor sculpture gallery in the Stable Yard.
I went on a glorious summer’s evening and coming across the sculptures as you wander around the beautiful gardens with the Elizabethan hall as backdrop just adds to the experience. There are sculptures large and small, and in a variety of materials, stone, metal, wood, marble and recycled materials. There are some stunning and huge glass flowers in vibrant reds and oranges in one corner of the walled garden which particularly caught my eye.
The exhibition finishes on the 8 September so don’t miss it.
