We’re excited to announce that Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service and partners are hosting a series of events that will take place throughout the year, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB. There will be something for everyone, from guided walks and talks to practical tasks, all designed to showcase and promote the beauty of the Wolds.
As part of the celebrations, funds are being raised for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA), the chosen charity of the Lincolnshire Wolds Joint Advisory Committee. LNAA provides rapid life-saving emergency response to people across two and a quarter million acres of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, and we rely on the generosity of the public to keep us in the skies and saving lives.
The events have been organised by the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service, the Lincolnshire Chalk Stream Project, and the AONB Farming in Protected Landscapes network, in partnership with local authorities, organisations, and community groups.
The Lincolnshire Wolds Chair, Councillor Richard Avison, says: “The beauty of our landscape has brought real joy throughout recent trying times for everyone and reinvigorated the nation’s interest in our countryside. Harnessing that interest along with Government initiatives will provide an ideal opportunity to promote and celebrate our Lincolnshire Wolds AONB 50th anniversary. We look forward to seeing you at the forthcoming events, come along and enjoy a part of the countryside which we proudly represent”.
