Rich in countryside and places to explore, the rural county of Lincolnshire is a natural world of fun and adventure for the family to rediscover. Here are two of our favourite spots in the county.
Willingham Woods
There are not many better ways for little ones to spend a cold, crisp autumn day, than kicking leaves and embracing nature on a woodland walk.
Willingham Woods to the east of Market Rasen offers a wide range of walking trails, activities and events including orienteering, cycle and mountain biking and a lovely picnic site, with a café. There is also a large car park.
Wrap up warm, and head out to nature for a lovely family day out in the wonderful natural world of Lincolnshire! Take a picnic, flask of hot chocolate and you have all the ingredients for a lovely day out. Pooches are welcome too!

Whisby Nature Park
Close to Lincoln, Whisby Nature park is a brilliant place to take the kids. Enjoy more than six miles of footpaths around ponds and lakes.
Look out for all the birds and wildlife around the park. Autumn brings the first of the winter birds, from Goldcrests, Redpolls and Grey Wagtails. Later into the year, the water levels rise and Wildfowl comes out.
But the highlight of the park is the huge murmations of Starlings in their thousands! A spectacular sight for the whole family, not just the children.

Older kids and fancy a challenge?
Gentle walks and play time is great for young families but if your children are older and into the natural world then we have a host of other great ideas. Including cycle routes, walking treks and other great ideas.
