Community Heroes at Healing Manor feed their local community, providing meals for those self-isolating, the vulnerable, key workers, and local charities, with their #NominateYourNeighbour campaign and online fundraiser. Please join us in saying a huge thank you.

While COVID-19 has bought chaos and uncertainty to us all, whether it’s on a personal or business level, a little light to come out of it all is the incredible sense of community spirit.

Launched during the first weeks of lockdown, #NominateYourNeighbour  has been a locally run campaign for individuals to nominate someone who is either working on the front line as a key worker, isolating at home or is perhaps struggling with lockdown.

Healing Manor  set up the campaign to help those nominated by delivering free meals each weekend, with the help of their volunteers – and there have been a real mix of heartwarming and heartbreaking stories sent in.

Each week, with the help of their incredible volunteers, Healing Manor reaches out to a few of those nominated to safely hand-deliver a meal or two, to the people that need and deserve it the most.

Hundreds of loaves of bread have been baked and given away to people in the surrounding local village and to key workers in the area, too.

“Food is such a necessity and we’re really conscious that whilst our business might be hugely affected, and currently without any grant support, we can really make a difference by doing the small things” Said Charlotte Hay, Director at Healing Manor.

“Whilst we originally launched #NominateYourNeighbour for Easter Weekend, due to the huge response we’ve had, we’re keeping it open for the duration of COVID-19, or at least for as long as we’re able too.”

Alongside #NominateYourNeighbour, Healing Manor have also set up a Go Fund Me page  to raise funds to support their pledge to provide meals for the vulnerable, local charities, and key workers on a much larger scale.

When a community comes together

They originally set out to raise £10,000 and have just recently reached over £23,000, thanks to a £10,000 donation from Tronox,  £5,000 donation from RWE  and support from individuals and incredible companies in the productions and renewables sector.

The money raised is helping them to purchase the raw ingredients to produce hundreds of meals each week. Healing Manor are currently feeding patients at St. Andrews Hospice in Grimsby  on a daily basis and working with We Are One Foundation  to supply over 200 essential care packages each week. They are also providing even more free meals for key workers within the local Lincolnshire community.

Healing Manor are working alongside other local businesses, including ISH Fish,  Stokes Tea & Coffee,  Swales Group,  Premier Seafoods  and Dairy Lincs,  and the funds raised will help them to buy additional supplies required to generate the amount of meals and food currently needed in the local area.

Their pledge is to support local charities and communities by giving their time, overheads and skills to cook 100-250 meals each day until the end of this pandemic.

They have also pledged to arrange the donation of other required products including PPE and necessities for care workers.

Another way Healing Manor have been showing their kindness and support for their community is by providing their own Furloughed team with food parcels and cook-along recipes.

PLEASE HELP US IN THANKING OUR COMMUNITY HEROES AT HEALING MANOR, THEIR VOLUNTEERS AND ALL THOSE WHO HAVE DONATED TO THEIR GO FUND ME PAGE TO SUPPORT THEIR PLEDGE.
