Milling & Steaming Day – Heckington Windmill

Step back in time as you watch the millers of Heckington windmill, mill on the Austrian mill, Hurst frame and run steam engine Maud.
The noise and smell from the engines powering the mills will captivate you as you see the millers produce, black wheat, white flour, wholemeal flour, spelt and bran, all available to buy in the Visitor Centre.
Explore the different floors of the mill tower and experience the grand machinery used for centuries, discover it's history in the interactive museum, meet the millers who love to explain the milling process and are happy to answer questions as they display milling on a farm mill.
Top the day off with a snack or with lunch in the Millers tearooms and gardens and wash it down with a drink from the onsite brewery.
