14th September 2025

Gainsborough Old Hall, a medieval jewel in north Lincolnshire, will be opening its doors for free to all visitors on Sunday 14th September! In addition, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to take part in a free heritage clay workshop.

Gainsborough Old Hall is open for Heritage Open Days and there is no need to book in advance for this event. The café and gift shop will also be open. Ian Martinson from Wienerberger Ltd will also bring his life-size bust of Henry VIII and talk to visitors about clay working. Henry VIII visited Gainsborough Old Hall twice, once in 1509 and again in 1541 with his fifth wife, Catherine Howard.
