Come and see authentic replicas of famous locomotives such as Flying Scotsman,  Papyrus and Mallard, at the Gainsborough Model Railway at their next open day event.

With locomotives, express trains, freights, and stations from the late 1940s to the end of the British rail steam, the Gainsborough Model Railway is one of the largest hand-built model railways in the country.

You'll also see The West Riding Ltd and The Yorkshire Pullman in the model railway - two of the many express trains depicted on the railway, along with many more mundane services, express freights, local freights, as well as local passenger services.

The jewel in the crown of the model railway is their model of Kings Cross a magnificent achievement in view of the fine detail incorporated into the model. It is one of the largest model railways in O gauge, depicting The East Coast Main Line from Kings Cross to Leeds Central.

Enjoy a day out in this historic market town with a visit to the model railway. Gainsborough is also home to the magnificent Gainsborough Old Hall as well as many other nearby attractions and things to do.
