Realising the Music and the Instruments of the Luttrell Psalter

A concert of music, songs and dance inspired by the images in the Luttrell Psalter By de Mowbray’s Musicke.

In the concert we will be performing all 17 instruments depicted in the psalter. Some of them will be played solo, and others in combinations. We will be playing music, singing songs and performing a dance – all of the period. As well as exploring the range of instruments, our concert will be structured around the four seasons of the year. Our performance will also highlight some of the themes in the book. The concert will be preceded by a short 30 minute demonstration and explanation of some of these instruments.
