Skegness

One of the best known seaside towns in Britain, Skegness offers families, couples and friends a traditional coastal holiday packed with colourful sights and sounds. Skegness has become famous for its Jolly Fisherman mascot, featured in a 1908 advertisement for the town with the slogan “Skegness is SO bracing!”

From the bright lights, arcade amusements and candy floss shops along the main strip to the fairground rides, crazy golf and vibrant gardens that border the beach – Skegness has fun and entertainment at its heart. Whether you want to hook-a-duck, bungee on a trampoline or ride the ghost train – Skegness has every seaside thrill covered! Treat the children to a day out at Natureland Seal Sanctuary where you can watch the seals being fed.

The golden sandy beach is the perfect place to soak up the sun, build sandcastles with the kids and paddle in the sea. Look out for Skeggy’s award-winning donkeys, the landmark of Skegness Clock Tower, and of course Skegness Pier, where you’ll find oodles of entertainment - including ten pin bowling, video arcades and Laserquest.

Seaside fun in Skegness

Whether you’re taking a weekend break to the town or spending your summer holidays on Skegness beach – there’s plenty of accommodation close to the fun: quality guest houses, hotels and self-catering apartments are dotted along the town’s leafy avenues; or if you’re after a great value stay for all the family, Skegness has some great caravan and camping parks as well as the famous Butlins resort.

Along the coast to the North of Skegness, the village of Chapel St Leonards offers a quieter seaside experience with traditional charm – great for escaping the crowds and finding your own quiet corner to doze away your days in.
