Illuminate Gainsborough 2024

Illuminate Gainsborough returns with its beautiful lantern parade and magnificent fire garden.

This year’s theme is ‘Love, Gainsborough’, reflecting on the town and its communities.

There's a full day planned for visitors to enjoy a day out in Gainsborough. Visit the Monthly Farmers & Craft Market, followed by an Illuminate market through the afternoon and evening (2pm to 8pm).

Join the parade starting at 5.30pm, starting in Lord Street, making its way through the town centre via the Market Place and then Church Street, ending adjacent to the Parish Church in Gladstone Street.

Please note children should be accompanied by a responsible guardian; road closures will be in place.

From 6pm, fire sculptures will be set alight, and performers entertain visitors in the grounds of All Saints’ Parish Church, and the grounds of Gainsborough Old Hall will host a display of lanterns and performers until 7.30pm. The Old Hall’s shop and café will also be open, and refreshments will be available in the Parish Church.
