Searching for ‘Gilbert Country’: The Lincolnshire of Billinghay’s Bernard Samuel Gilbert, author, 1882-1927.
Billinghay
Billinghay-born Bernard Samuel Gilbert (1882 – 1927) was an outstanding author who has been largely forgotten by his home county of Lincolnshire.
Come along to Gilbert’s village of birth, Billinghay, and hear Professor Jackson argue the case for a 'Gilbert Country'.
The talk is the culmination of a day of events celebrating Gilbert's work. Three walks and an exhibition during the day explore Gilbert country. (The walks are part of the NKDC walking festival)
