28th May 2023

Learn about the history of the river Freshney and join the litter-picking #OFSH walk with duck feeding and nature i-spy on the way!

Spend the afternoon emersed in nature and wildlife on a walk with the Canoe River Cleaner on the final day of the #OFSH Our Future Starts Here programme for 2023.

You'll discover a brief history of the Freshney as well as an overview of the wildlife resident there and a nature i-spy for the kids (and adults). Give back to nature afterwards by joining in with a litter pick, ending up at Grimsby in Bloom for a cuppa.

The day also includes a duck feeding session with feed supplied by Haiths. You'll meet your guide at Garth Lane Bridge and walk along the River Freshney. It is advisable to wear suitable footwear and clothing for the day's weather conditions.
