Over 100 historic churches welcome visitors at the 2025 West Lindsey Churches Festival. The first weekend (10-11 May) will see 52 churches take part in the west of the district, with 51 churches opening for the second weekend (17-18 May) to the east. Discover a wealth of heritage buildings located across the stunning landscape of West Lindsey, just north of Lincoln and encompassing Gainsborough, Caistor and Market Rasen. And, for the first time, organisers are delighted to announce that eighteen churches in North Lincolnshire will be joining the festival.

West Lindsey Churches Festival

Join in and celebrate at the West Lindsey Churches Festival supporting the many churches and chapels across the stunning Lincolnshire countryside and rural villages that make up the vibrant landscape.

Many of the churches are still the focal point of the villages within the West Lindsey District and will provide you with an insight into the history and life of their parishes. Others offer a vibrant collection of stained glass, architecture, carvings and Artefacts.

Some of the smaller churches open their doors simply to provide you with an oasis of peace and spirituality, a place to relax and witness the Holy Spirit. And finally, the festival offers intrigue and mystery as hidden stories are uncovered after being kept so secret over the years!

With events taking place in rural towns and villages including Market Rasen, Caistor, Tealby, Hemswell Cliff, Nettleham, Saxilby, Scampton and many more.
