An Arts Council Accredited Museum and Visitor Centre. Situated in Ted Lewis’s hometown of Barton upon Humber with easy transport access, this is the only Centre which celebrates the art, life and times of local novelist, artist and jazz musician who became famous for writing Get Carter and managing animation for The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine.
Novelist and Father of English Noir, Ted Lewis, lived in Barton upon Humber and the area provided inspiration for the novel that became Get Carter, starring Michael Caine. See the chair used by Sir Michael Caine on the set of Get Carter, first editions owned by the producer and director of the film, original script, graphics, films and memorabilia. Enjoy a coffee and a browse.
