A Place to Discover

The Joseph Banks Centre is the perfect place to start your visit to Horncastle and the Lincolnshire Wolds. The tourist information can help you find everything that the area has to offer, from heritage to outstanding natural beauty.
Explore the community run museum where you'll uncover stories of people that made history from botanists and explorers, to hangmen and convicts. You'll also find historic natural history collections plus changing temporary exhibitions and events.

Step into the beautiful courtyard oasis where you'll find a quiet garden dedicated to Sir Joseph Banks and the exotic plants he helped discover.

Plan Your Visit
Horncastle is in the centre of Lincolnshire, half way between Lincoln and Skegness on the A158. The No. 56 bus serves this route hourly. If travelling by train Lincoln is usually the most convenient station. You'll find car parks on St Lawrence Street, at Tesco, and The Wong (free).
