Add to favourites
Aug 29
29th August 2025

Learn to combine pen and paint in this inspiring art workshop. Enjoy a creative day at Burghley learning the expressive technique of line and wash – combining line drawings with soft, colourful watercolour.

Led by artist Hannah Magrath, this relaxed and friendly workshop will take inspiration from the natural and architectural forms found at Burghley. You’ll start by sketching in pen to capture the essence of your subject, then build up gentle washes of watercolour to add depth, texture and atmosphere. Hannah will provide demonstrations and guidance throughout the day, with plenty of opportunity for experimentation and personal expression.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to try a new style, this workshop is great way to develop your skills.

All materials are provided, and no previous experience is needed.
