Murder at Christie Manor

It’s the 1920s.  A time of prosperity and growth.  The Great War is over, and for those who survived life has taken on a new dynamic edge.  It’s a jazz age, an age where anything could happen, and for those in the right business, a time for wealth and high society living.

This evening at Christie Manor, wealthy businessman William Bateson is preparing to celebrate his 2^nd wife’s 30^th Birthday.  It is a lavish affair, with celebrity guests invited from London, as well as local notoriety and friends of the family.

However the evening doesn’t begin in quite the same way as everyone expected…

William Bateson never arrives to give the expected welcoming speech to his guests.  Instead – he’s found dead in his study and his killer can only be one of the assembled guests.  The question is – who?

Adieu Adieu

In the picturesque village of Seux, near Amiens on the river Somme, stands ‘Le Petit Coque’ a cafe bar run by Francois Derriere with his wife Claudette and waitress Amelie.

Despite the German occupation of 1940, his life has remained largely unchanged, except that his customers now include the various ranks of German soldiers stationed there.

However the murder of a strange man in the kitchens of ‘Le Petit Coque’ spells trouble for everyone as Francois tries to juggle the relationships he has with his wife, his mistress, the Gestapo, a missing painting, two British Airmen and La Resistance at the same time!

Strictly Come Murder!

The long-running TV series, Seriously Dancing, is now into its 14th contest. Hailed as bringing ballroom dancing back into the average viewer’s dining room, Seriously Dancing, hosted by the popular presenter Bruce Falseteeth, has been a surprising hit and the judges themselves have become household names. The show sees celebrities competing with each other for the Glitterball Trophy, dancing themselves silly with professional partners in an attempt to wow the judges.

However, this evening the show has been called to an abrupt halt. Bruce, the much loved presenter, has found murdered backstage! And it definitely wasn’t nice to see him to see him, to see him dead!
