26th September 2025

Explore colour, texture and composition while creating your own still life artwork inspired by Burghley. Enjoy a creative day at Burghley exploring the timeless tradition of still life using a range of mixed media techniques.

Led by artist Hannah Magrath, this relaxed and friendly workshop will take inspiration from the objects, textures and surroundings of Burghley House. You’ll create your own still life composition, choosing from natural and man-made forms such as fruit, flowers, glassware or decorative items.

Hannah will guide you from the first sketch to building up colour and texture using materials of your choice – from pencil and ink to pastel or paint. Demonstrations and one-to-one support throughout the day will help you experiment confidently and bring your own creative style to your work.

Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to advance their skills.

All materials are provided, and no previous experience is needed.
