Dido and Aeneas at Alford Corn Exchange

"One night enjoy'd, the next forsook"

Fenwold Opera presents a double-bill: Dido and Aeneas / The Fairy Queen (abridged)

Purcell’s dramatic masterpiece Dido and Aeneas tells the tragic tale of the Queen of Carthage's fleeting encounter with the Prince of Troy, doomed by the evil Sorceress. Paired with his tongue-in-cheek accompaniment to Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and with a live harpsichord trio, there's never been a better time to try something new right on your doorstep.
