Saltfleetby Theddlethorpe Dunes
Saltfleetby, near Louth
Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve is open all year, but for dune flora May-June is recommended, May-October for migrant birds and the winter months for wildfowl. A haven for the rare natterjack toad, on spring nights the males all sing loudly together to attract females.

About Theddlethorpe
Natural England organises many events here including nature rambles, bird walks and children's activities. Variety of trails across the reserve, including 3 accessible trails suitable for wheelchair users.
What you will see
The sand, mud, salt and fresh water marshes of this 952 ha reserve all provide food and refuge for the many visiting birds. Summer visitors include white throats and willow warblers. In winter fieldfare and redwing, with ringed plover, sanderlings and curlew at the sea's edge and brent geese, twite and snow bunting on the saltmarsh.
