In the late eighteenth century, Boston Central Park was a private deer park. The park was purchased for public use in 1919, and is now one of the focal points of the town where many people and families enjoy the open space. The park holds a number of events throughout the year. Central park includes a bird aviary, children's play area and a skate park. There is also a café located in the park which offers a range of hot food, ice creams and drinks. There are public toilets available at the entrance to the park.
