A poignant outdoor art installation at the International Bomber Command Centre to commemorate and remember the lives of those who fought in during the 1982 war on The Falkland Islands with Argentina.

Created by artist, Dan Barton, the installation incorporates 255 silhouetted life-size figures of Seafarers, Royal Marines, Army, and Airmen and 3 civilians who lost their lives. A complementary exhibition is also on display in the Falkland Islands and has been created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of liberation on June 14th, 2022.

The stunning silhouettes on display at the International Bomber Command Centre are framed by poppy wreaths marking the installation’s purpose of recognition and remembrance.

They will be hosted at the Centre until the 2nd April 2023 and are free to visit as part of the IBCC offer.
