Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at Wilder Doddington on a guided nature walk about the grounds.
Join Doddington's Wilder ranger Heather, on a short walk to see the beginnings of the Wilder Doddington Project. After several decades of intensive farming of cropped land, the Wilder Team has taken the brakes off to allow nature to recover. Come and see the changes that are taking place.
Following a briefing in the covered wagon shed you will walk together on the nearby paths and tracks. Heather will explain how the management is changing to help nature to come back. You will look out for interesting sights on the day that most likely will include birds such as Yellowhammer, Buzzard, Chaffinch, and water birds. Heather will also explain how to identify seasonal flowers and trees. You will take a spade and look at how soil life is changing.
During the walk, you will take the opportunity to discuss how everyone can enjoy more nature at home, and the actions that everyone can take in our gardens and window boxes.
