Join expert botanist John Handley for a one-day course focused on vegetative grass identification at Wilder Doddington.
Grasses are found across every British habitat and act as key indicator species, helping ecologists distinguish between habitats, understand plant communities and assess habitat quality.
Designed for professional ecologists who want to develop confidence using identification keys, this hands-on course combines classroom learning with field practice. It is also an ideal accompaniment to the previous day’s botanical course on the top ten plant families.
You will explore the Wilder Doddington landscape to find and identify a wide range of grasses, supported by additional specimens brought from other sites to broaden your experience.
