The Woolpack is a grade 11 listed building, and is located on the eastern fringes of the market town of Louth, at Riverhead, close to the banks of the canal.
A traditional coaching inn, it dates back to 1770, coinciding with the opening of the Louth canal and it’s inland seaport.
For many years it supplied food, home-brewed ale and lodgings to the numerous travellers and wool traders who worked on the canal until the canal eventually closed in 1924.
Today, the Woolpack retains all of its original character and charm, having been extensively and sympathetically refurbished to provide comfortable and relaxed surroundings for modern times.
With two log burning stoves for the winter months and a selection of comfortable seating and dining areas, it is a cosy place to spend some time enjoying good home cooked food or a drink or two.
