The Thorold is a Pub, Restaurant, B&B and Shop, community owned since 2019
The Thorold re-opened in late 2019 as a community owned pub and restaurant, following extensive refurbishment. It is now complete with a shop, and two completely refurbished guest rooms. The two bedrooms are decorated in modern hues and fitted out with king-size beds, stylish furniture, TV, quality bedlinen and tea and coffee making facilities. Their modern en-suites feature walk-in showers and toiletries are supplied. Breakfast is included in the cost.
Marston is an attractive village, one mile from the A1 north of Grantham. The Viking Way long distance path passes through the village, making the village a popular stopover for walkers and cyclists. National Trust Belton House, Newark and the City of Lincoln are all easily reached from the village. The Pub is family and dog friendly and has an attractive garden for when the weather is good. They offer a great selection of guest ales and fine wines. The restaurant has quickly gained a reputation for quality food, often using locally sourced produce and have been recognised by a Restaurant Guru award in both 2020 and 2021, as well as a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award in 2021.
