The Aubourn Estate is a thriving country retreat and business hub set in 2,500 acres of arable farmland. The Nevile family, the custodians of Aubourn Hall and Estate since 1628, have farmed this land for hundreds of years. The current owners, Christopher and Anabelle Nevile, are responsible for the thoughtful reimagining of the property and its commitment to sustainable, regenerative farming and conservation efforts.
The estate centres around Aubourn Hall: a rare Caroline Manor House that dates back to the mid-1500s. Aubourn Hall is an arresting sight that commands interest and attention, not just because of its impressive Jacobean exterior and unique mannerism but because of its asymmetrical facade and wonderful mellow brickwork shunning of architectural convention.
Gardens
The quintessentially English garden had been largely pasture land and orchard for centuries before being cultivated by Sir Henry and Lady Nevile in the 1970s. Now, in the care of Christopher and his wife Anabelle, it’s a dramatic reimagining of the space, featuring a Golden garden, Rose garden, Iris and peony beds, Prairie garden, a Stumpery and a 13 ring grass labyrinth.
Aubourn Estate welcome's group bookings and offer guided tours with their lead gardener for just £15 per person, to include hot drinks and home made cakes. Minimum number 15. Contact the Estate to book your private tour.
Dogs
While dogs are welcome, please ensure they are kept on a lead at all times.
