Kingfisher Cottage is a peaceful, self-contained one-bedroom cottage beside the River Witham, close to Grantham. Surrounded by a natural riverside garden that is gradually being restored, it is a lovely spot for watching wildlife, including swans, ducks, kingfishers and many other birds.
National Trust properties Belton House and Grantham House are within easy reach, while the surrounding area offers fascinating connections to Lincolnshire’s RAF heritage and even a Laurel and Hardy link here in Barkston village. Equestrians will be pleased to know that Arena UK is very close by too!

Kingfisher Cottage is a comfortable countryside retreat for one or two adults, with a well-equipped kitchen, living space, log burner, bedroom and spa bath.
Guests can enjoy the natural garden and riverside terrace overlooking the River Witham. The garden is being gradually restored with nature very much in mind, and the river brings a constant variety of wildlife. Swans and ducks are regular visitors, kingfishers can be spotted along the river, and there is plenty of other birdlife throughout the year.
The cottage is well placed for visitors attending events at Arena UK and for exploring nearby National Trust properties, including Belton House and Grantham House.
Lincolnshire's rich aviation history is also on the doorstep, with several RAF locations and historic sites within easy travelling distance. Barkston itself has an unexpected piece of entertainment history too, with a local connection to Stan Laurel of Laurel and Hardy.
Grantham and its railway station are easily accessible, making Kingfisher Cottage convenient for visitors arriving by train as well as by car.
