An Evening with Tom Holland!

Waterstones Lincoln is proud to present an evening with award-winning historian Tom Holland!

They will be hosting Tom at the fabulous Lincoln Museum in the centre of Lincoln for the release of his third Roman history epic, Pax. Doors will be open from 6pm, with refreshments available to purchase from the Lincoln Museum café. The event will begin at 6:30pm followed by an audience Q&A, and Tom will be signing his books in the atrium after the event.

The third in the epic trilogy narrating the history of the Roman Empire from renowned historian Tom Holland. The series that began with Rubicon, and continued with Dynasty, now arrives at the period which marks the apogee of the pax Romana. It provides a portrait of the ancient world's ultimate superpower at war and at peace; from the gilded capital to the barbarous realms beyond the frontier; from emperors to slaves.

Tom Holland is an award-winning historian, biographer and broadcaster. In 2007, he was the winner of the Classical Association prize, awarded to ‘the individual who has done most to promote the study of the language, literature and civilisation of Ancient Greece and Rome’. Holland is the presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Making History. He has written and presented a number of TV documentaries, for the BBC and Channel 4, on subjects ranging from ISIS to dinosaurs. Pax is his ninth historical non-fiction publication.
